Los Angeles, CA – October 28, 2008 – Twiistup, Southern California's premier event connecting professionals from the worlds of technology, media and entertainment, has officially opened ticket sales and its call for start-ups to showcase their products and services at Twiistup 5, taking place on Thursday, February 12, 2009.

Showoffs at Twiistup have the chance to gain exposure and visibility in front of a mix of investors, entrepreneurs and other influencers in the technology industry. This year, a panel will select 15 entrants based on qualities including:

- contribution to technology, innovation and entrepreneurship

- value and appeal

- originality and inspirational or thought-provoking content

Twiistup also announced that those interested in attending can now purchase tickets for the upcoming event, which will be held at the Santa Monica Airport in HANGAR:8, a 15,000 square foot structure often used for filming television and music video productions. The theme of the event will focus on the inspiration that start-ups and entrepreneurs bring to the industry and economy in general.

"Each year, we strive to bring the most innovative and inspiring companies from under the radar and into the spotlight at our event," said Twiistup Founder Mike Macadaan. "We're looking forward to having an even bigger venue this year to connect more bright minds in Southern California, which continue to grow and foster the entrepreneurial spirit."

Companies interested in entering for one of the 15 featured showoff spots can apply on the Twiistup Web site at www.twiistup.com/call-for-showoffs/.

Twiistup will accept applications through Tuesday, December 2 and announce the winners in mid-January.

Help Save Podango Productions
Written by Efren Toscano

I've had the pleasure of meeting Liana Lehua at the Blog World Expo and she is one of the most kind and joy giving persons out there. Currently her company is in a bit of a bind. Liana has been sick since October 4th, and is currently located in an LA hospital. With bills piling up, Podango, Inc. is being forced to liquidate the SF office's assets.

Adam Jackson, a very good friend of Liana is attempting to save the studio. Podango, Inc. CEO has offered a way to salvage the space. Adam explains from his blog post:

My best friend mysteriously went missing on October 4th. I’ve been desperately spending my days trying to find her when I learned she was in the hospital in LA…

Here’s the problem with this situation. I worked for her part time as an assistant…She was over the day to day activities of the studio as the sole employee and I helped out. Well, she’s been missing for all of these days. We’ve lost every contract and we are 17 days behind on paying bills. I’ve spoken to the CEO of the company in Utah and here’s the deal. He’s going to close the studios on Monday and liquidate the nearly 50 thousand dollars in audio equipment. I pleaded with him and he told me that if I can get 4 grand in contracts for the space for this month then we can save the studio.

Adams can keep the studio open if he can find people willing to rent out the space before Monday! Adam gives more details about the space and the what comes included with the rental on his blog post.

In the first 10 mins of this video from Blog World Expo is Liana Lehua.

From the bleachers to the dance floor and now on TechZulu, Mark Cuban has seen it, done it, and pretty much lived it all.  Growing up in a working class family in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania to becoming a Multibillionaire, Mark is the definition of an entrepreneur.  He gives you some very simple pointers for your company that most companies tend to forget.  We also pop the question; SoCal or NorCal where do you stand?  Find out what Mark thinks.
