Last night's TechSet Meetup hosted by Brian Solis and Stephanie Agresta was Amazing.  Great food, great drinks, and great conversation.  Plenty of new faces from out of town flew in from New York and even as far as Germany for a little pre-Twiistup action.  Huge thanks to Brian and Stephanie for putting this all together.

Digital LA July – Another Big One!
Written by John Raya

It was another packed house for this month’s Digital LA at the Parlor in Santa Monica. Over 350 attendees got to do their networking while enjoy some fine happy hour specials in this upscale sports bar. I can’t think of a more fun environment to meet people in online advertising, marketing, entertainment, or e-commerce.  Kevin Winston, from Fox Interactive/Myspace, has a talent for getting employees of Sony Pictures, FOX Interactive, MySpace, Google, Yahoo!, Disney, WB, NBC, Vivendi Games, Napster, and other entertainment studios, ad agencies, and tech companies all in one place! This was the 7th Digital LA that Kevin has put together and the numbers continue to grow! As an added bonus, Done!SEO sponsored an awesome door prize… 2 tickets to the Dodgers VS Padres game! In case you missed it, take a look at the madness in the event video. Make sure you go next month! You never know what’s in store or who you might meet!

DivX Connected: Revolutionizing Internet Media
Written by Martini Beerman

Hallelujah, it has finally happened! For many the idea of fusing the Internet and TV seems like a pipe dream, yet on Monday, June 30th 2008, I found myself at Cinespace in Hollywood watching history in the making. The friendly folks over at DivX invited members of the community to come celebrate the American release of the DivX Connected, HD Media Player, and no, this is not just any media player...this baby is going to revolutionize entertainment and Internet media. The DivX HD Media Player pretty much does everything short of bringing you your morning coffee! It streams video, photos and music wirelessly to your TV;  enables you to  play all your videos from the PC and the Internet and comes complete with several DivX Connected plug-ins for gaming and infotainment services.

But you don't have to take my word for it because once a demonstration had been completed, I touched base with several authorities on entertainment and Internet media like Brad Murphy, VP of Advertising for Revision3; Alex Albrecht,  Host of Diggnation & the Totally Rad Show and Zadi Diaz, Host of Epic Fu for some user feedback. I also caught up with Douglas Sarine and Kent Nichols  Co-Creators of Ask a Ninja, whose plug-in is actually available on the new DivX HD Player. And for behind the scenes info and tips on how you can get your own plug-in up and running with DivX or what went in to making the event a success I turned to DivX's own Ben Cote, Digital Guru and Tom Huntington, Director of Corporate Communication. And folks all I can say is that this new DivX HD Media Player is one hot box!

Rubicon Project hosted their latest “In the Mix” last Thursday night in the outdoor courtyard at their offices in West LA.  It’s an informal mixer that brings together entrepreneurs, investors, Web 2.0 superstars, techies, execs and many more.  There was a great turnout with hundreds in attendance, including those from Yahoo, Myspace, Sony, and more.  “In the Mix” was created to build relationships, share ideas, and strengthen the community of these inter-related industries.

Rubicon Project is a web-based solution that serves any size website in efforts of bringing efficiency to the fragmented world of online advertising.
