iGarageSale: A Bargain Shopper Dream App
Written by Efren Toscano
Monday, 28 June 2010 09:35
Garage sales have always been a spot for either some awesome finds or some other persons unwanted garbage.  So why waste your time and getting your fingers covered in ink on local classifieds. iGarageSale allows you to find the gems without digging through the dirt.  Pulling in information from Craigslist (for now, more sources to come) and using the GPS on your phone gives you the location of the closes garage sale to where you are. Finding Garage sales is not all the app does.  Basically an…

3DS: Not a Big Deal After All
Written by Jacob Nahin
Wednesday, 23 June 2010 17:26
This post is a collaboration between Jacob Nahin and Efren Toscano. Jacob's Reaction: Wow. That's a long line. This must be a pretty awesome device. Those were my first thoughts when I saw how many people were lined up, dying to see Nintendo's latest device, the 3DS. Listening to all the hoopla on the floor, I was expecting portable 3D gaming to take my breath away.  Several people promised me that it wouldn't hurt my eyes or give me a headache. My expectations were taken a notch higher wh…

Fable III, Fun but Familiar
Written by Jacob Nahin
Tuesday, 22 June 2010 09:15
Lionhead Studios is best known for its Fable IP, a fantasy ation-RPG that probably needs no introduction here, so I'll get right down to my experience with Fable III. Players start out the game as a revolutionary in Albion. Eventually, players will lead a coup and become king. Whether you are a good or a bad king is up to you. In other words, it's the classic Fable good vs. evil choices that will alter your appearance and reputation but probably not affect the main storyline. After watching …

Kinect motion lags, lack of depth disappointing
Written by Jacob Nahin
Monday, 21 June 2010 09:00
Last Saturday, I told you about my first experience with Kinect, Microsoft's supposedly ber console add-on. Like I said then, Dance Central on the Kinect was a blast, but there is no way this peripheral can live up to the hype it has been building, especially with the problems I have with two of its other games, Joyride and Kinect Adventures. Rewind. On June 14, I went to one of the weirdest introductions for a gaming peripheral. Under the auspices of a Cirque du Solei performance, Microsoft in…

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Can Bring New Life To The Series
Written by Efren Toscano
Monday, 21 June 2010 07:00
Yes I know what you may be thinking "Not another Castlevania game!" and I was thinking exactly that as well.  It seemed as if the only Castlevania games worth playing were on the Nintendo DS which were following the same formula as the last super successful Castlevania title 'Symphony Of The Night'.  Which was published by Konami in 1997 for the original Playstation console.  However, I had a chance to play ''Castlevania: Lords of Shadow' at E3 2010 on the expo floor and wow was I surprised! St…

'Dance Central' hurts oh so good
Written by Jacob Nahin
Friday, 18 June 2010 19:02
Neon lights. Lady Gaga. No Doubt. To my right, electric drums, bass, guitar; musical instruments from Rockband 3 send notes to my ear while I nervously stare at five (obviously experienced) dancers on a small stage to my left. They’re playing a Kinect game developed by Harmonix called Dance Central. TechZulu chief Efren Toscano looks at me and says I’m next. No. HELL no. Yes. After seeing the guy on the stage in front of me play the same game, botching up beats but still having a good time,  I…

Donkey Kong Country Returns To A Wii Near You
Written by Efren Toscano
Friday, 18 June 2010 10:52
Since the early 1980's Donkey Kong has been a staple in the Nintendo family constantly growing with the times.  This year at E3 Expo 2010 Nintendo announced the return of Donkey Kong with Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii.  I had a chance to play it in the Nintendo booth during E3 and let me tell you, if you loved the Super Nintendo version you will adore this one.  It was really fun to play and the enhanced graphics really gave the Donkey Kong Country world a great look. Picking up Donke…

Halo: Reach drops you into the fight
Written by Jacob Nahin
Friday, 18 June 2010 10:05
I stand on the roof of a concrete structure, surrounded by glossy purple dropships. A message comes across my headset, "Reinforcements are on their way!" In minutes, wave after wave of whiny grunts, long-haired jackals, and muscular elites jump out of the dropships. I hit Right Button on my controller, igniting my jetpack. This is going to be a good time. At E3, Efren and I had the chance to check out Halo:Reach's Firefight mode. First introduced in Halo:ODST, Firefight throws players into a…
