Microsoft Stepping It Up With Silverlight Rough Cut Editor
News

During MIX10 Microsoft announced the Silverlight Rough Cut Editor (RCE).  This open source tool provides real time editing for Silverlight Smooth Streaming content.  Without any re-encoding the RCE allows editing of Smooth Streaming sources, both on-demand and Live.  Content publishers can use this tool to create real-time highlights, control dynamic meta-data, such as inserting ads and content meta-data.  In addition, be able to create a modular approval and publishing workflow for live and on demand media content.  Its definitely going to change things within the industry because until now it hasn’t been possible with any other streaming media technology.

Below you can watch the introduction of the Rough Cut Editor. This session will review the core architecture (modularity, UI composition, services, and data providers) and detail how this tool is being used to meet the needs of content providers worldwide.
