That’s right folks, we are now just a day away from Los Angeles Startup Weekend held at Coloft in Santa Monica. The February Startup Weekend was stated that it was “The Best Los Angeles Startup Weekend (LASW)” ever, now I have a hunch that this upcoming LASW will surpass it in awesome. Based on the fact that this Startup Weekend was SOLD OUT in a just a few hours.

I decide to start off these series of interviews highlighting some of the female founders and CEOs from around the country with Los Angeles’s own Cameron Kashani Rasouli of CoLoft. I’ve had the honor of knowing Cameron for quite sometime now and she’s a wonderful person. She’s also half of the team that built the ever growing Coloft in Santa Monica, CA. It’s that time again and Startup Weekend LA is back at Coloft in Santa Monica happening RIGHT NOW!!! For those that may be unfamiliar with Startup Weekend its a weekend event in cities around the world. A highly motivated group of developers, business managers, startup enthusiasts, marketing gurus, graphic artists and more meet and in a short 54 hour event work on building projects out.
Last Thursday night, December 2nd, was not your average Thursday night in LA. Not just because it was yet another sold-out Startup Nights but because it was the 6th LA Startup Nights, and was attended by some of LA’s best in the tech space, as well as, marked a turning point for Startup Nights.
If you’re an LA entrepreneur and have not been to Coloft yet, you’re seriously missing out. Located just a few blocks from 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, this co-working space has evolved into the central meeting place for the Los Angeles startup scene. Avesta Rasouli and Cameron Kashani founded Coloft with the hopes of building an incredible environment for creative and technical talent to work, without having to spend an arm and a leg on office space. And, it seems that there’s no better event that highlights this goal than Startup Nights.
We here at TechZulu could have not asked for a better night. Amazing Spotlight companies, a fantastic audience, and great conversation sparked by the mixing and mingling of the academic and business worlds. We accomplished exactly what we were striving for with Spotlight, by providing a gallery of great entrepreneurship and raising a glass to those who build and innovate.
After months of submissions the moment you all have been waiting for is here! For those who still might be wondering what Spotlight: LA Tech is all about, It’s a screening room for new technology homegrown in our region. It’s a gallery of great entrepreneurship.
