Only a few weeks ago, Google executives announced Google+ Pages for brands and companies were on the way. Anticipation of Google opening up the doors to businesses on Google+ has been a long awaited feature-add to their fast growing, and widely used platform. Well, by the end of today – according to Louis Gray – that wait will finally be over.
I managed to go through the interface for adding pages a few moments ago, and grabbed some screenshots:
Primary Landing Page: Local Business or Place
The detail that interests me is the use of the Google Places logo for this tab. It begs to wonder if this is pointing at the possibility of Google+ Pages integration with Google Places, which would be stellar. We’ve already seen Google+ integration with Google Search (also launched today), simply do a search on Google for
+Google and you will see that in action.
Product or Brand Page:
The interface for “Product or Brand”, “Company, Institution or Organization”, “Arts, Entertainment, or Sports”, and “Other”, are virtually identical, at the moment. But there are some dropdown menus with varying options.
Get started today and
build your page. Do you have a Google+ Page yet? If so, leave a link to it in the comments.
Sometimes a few things go a long way. In the case of Enrique Gutierrez, those few things include systems admin, network admin, software engineer, web developer, graphic designer, video editor, and audio engineer. For TechZulu, he's the officer of things Technical.
