Silicon Beach Fest
Hard to believe another Digital LA Silicon Beach Fest Hollywood is happening this week back-to-back with the new LA Tech Summit produced by Cornerstone. Time sure flies when you’re having fun, or building a startup. The theme for Silicon Beach Fest Hollywood is startups and Hollywood, featuring leaders from movie studios, music labels, agencies, and startups in entertainment – how Hollywood studios are investing and working with startups, and how Silicon Beach startups are making entertainment businesses.
It can be a confusing world to seek funding when you’re just starting out and Silicon Beach Fest (#SBF) was a great place to learn what investors are looking for, meet investors of all levels in a collaborative environment, network with like-minded entrepreneurs, and develop relationships to further your dream and business.
Silicon Beach Fest is gearing up to showcase the most promising startups and visionaries from across LA’s growing startup entertainment ecosystem. Today, Mark Suster of GRP Partners and Launchpad was confirmed to keynote along with Nely Galan of Galan Entertainment, the first Latina president of Telemundo.
Its that time of the year again folks and Silicon Beach Fest is about to be in full swing! For those who may be unfamiliar (and I don’t know how you are not!) Silicon Beach Fest is LA’s original and largest startup tech entertainment festival, celebrating the burgeoning tech scene in Los Angeles. Silicon Beach uniquely features startup and Hollywood entertainment speakers at panels, parties, hackathon, demo day, startup showcase, and more events, June 19-22, 2013 in Los Angeles.
The first-ever Silicon Beach Fest attracted more than 2,000 attendees from LA, San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Barbara, New York, Toronto, and London to celebrate LA startups and entertainment with panels, parties, pitch fests, hackathon, and beach games: volleyball, basketball and surfing lessons in Santa Monica and Venice on June 21-23.
LA City Council Member Eric Garcetti will give the opening keynote for the inaugural Silicon Beach Fest, a celebration of digital innovators in startups and entertainment happening June 21 – 23.
Garcetti, who is currently running for Mayor of Los Angeles, is a fourth-generation Angeleno known for his support of digital and technology initiatives across the City.
