Motorola Atrix 4G | Starting a Smartphone Trend
Unveiled at CES in Las Vegas the ATRIX 4G by Motorola was by far the most impressive phone. This rang true not only in the fit and finish of the phone but also in Motorola’s vision of what the next wave of smartphones will look like.

If the full list of features and specifications was not enough, Motorola is changing the way we think about using our smartphone. The Motorola Webtop application allows the ATRIX 4G to be used with a multimedia dock or a laptop dock. Once plugged in the Motorola Atrix now serves as the user’s primary digital hub to create, edit and interact with documents, media and content. The Webtop Application runs a full version of Android and provides a full Mozilla Firefox 3.6 browser and supports Adobe Flash Player.
The ATRIX 4G was truly the most innovative smartphone out of CES this year. As consumers, a trend we will watch emerge is that of ‘one device for all computing needs’. Motorola is starting this by adding the laptop and multimedia docks to their offerings. As NFC (Near Field Communication) technology emerges we may see more and more manufacturers creating the ability for full computing inherent in a smartphone. Is the laptop dead? Not yet but be open to the fact that smartphones are now just as powerful as the computers we lived and died by just a few years ago.
