The world of Doctor’s visits is surely due for an upgrade and the Wound Technology Network is the company aiming to do it. The Wound Technology Network (WTN) is a nationwide Physician network that uses Windows Mobile-based phones to remotely give wound care. George Pollack COO of WTN said to us that “Being hospitalized can cause patients danger they might not otherwise encounter in the home” such as germs or disease that can be passed on by other sick patients.
These types of technologies really are the game changers within the industry and it’s something I feel everyone should pay attention to. WTN is paving the way for wound care and how clinician’s will provide treatment to their patients. The technology behind it all is provided by a Southern California based company called iVisit. We were not able to get an interview with them during CTIA 09 but will definitely schedule something in the near future.
