Get Traffic Updates over the phone with Live Search
Live Search in partnership with traffic provider INRIX has added live traffic reporting updates to Live Search 411. If you will recall, Live Search 411 was launched sometime in 2007 and featured various local search services including Business Search, Driving Direction, Sports and Stocks Quotes, Weather, Movie showtimes, Gas Prices and Travel Resources. Live Search 411 Traffic brings voice activated local search service into the table with real-time traffic information including travel times, accidents, and congestion information.By simply dialing Live Search 411’s hotline – 1-800-411 or 1-800-225-5411 from any mobile phone, users can then ask what traffic information they want to know. For regular driving routes, users even have the option tosave start and end points in the vicinity where they are located or along a specific route. Then the next time they want to know the traffic situation in the same vicinity or route, all they have to is to say “Home to work.”
In addition to traffic-related information such as incidents and slowdowns, Live Search 411 Traffic users can also get estimated drive time for specific routes.
Google has a similar service called Goog-411 which is also a voice-activated real-time service. But it doesn’t really provide this much traffic information and updates.
