A recent report over the last couple of days of an exploit in the Adobe Flash application has led to Adobe recommending that everyone update their Flash players to the latest version 9.0.124.0. The majority of all video on the internet is delivered through Flash, and this vulnerability could allow an attacker to take control of your machine when you watch an online video clip, leaving your information at their mercy. Adobe also advises content developers to review the March 2008 Adobe Developer Center article to determine if the changes will affect their content, and to begin implementing necessary changes immediately to help ensure a seamless transition. A full detailed description of the issue is available courtesy of Adobe on their website here.
