3M and Roku Launch First-of-Its-Kind Streaming Projector | The New Big Screen

After its January launch of its player, a tiny wireless USB Roku plug in Streaming Stick™, Roku  in partnership with 3M today, unveiled a first of its kind Streaming Projector running on the Roku Streaming Stick, changing big screen forever.

Bringing Back Big-Screen

The firm’s purpose was to bring back the big screen, they say: “Everyone loves that big-screen movie experience, yet as streaming content has continued to grow in popularity, people’s screen choices keep getting smaller – from the TV to the computer to the laptop to the tablet and even the smartphone. “

Strategic Partnership

And what a partnership, getting viewers these experience!  3M and Roku have partnered to create a truly unique and affordable entertainment experience by bringing back big-screen viewing. The partnership introduces the first-of-its kind Streaming Projector for users to instantly create cinema big-screen viewing experience anywhere with a Wi-Fi connection can be accessed.”

Mark Colin, VP and GM 3M Mobile Interactive Solutions Division said the 3M Streaming Projector can be used by family to recreate epic movie memories from their childhoods even made better through the powerful projection.

Great Streaming Experience

“We’ve worked very closely with the 3M projector team to ensure consumers get the best streaming experience available from a projection device” says Chas Smith, senior vice president and general manager of Roku’s platform OEM business. “The 3M Streaming Projector creates a big-screen Roku experience for people to enjoy content in any setting.”

The firm’s say the 3M Streaming Home Theater Projector is powered by the Roku Streaming Stick and will provide access to over 600 channels on the Roku platform including  paid channels like Netflix®, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Instant Video to free channels like Crackle.

600 Channels On 120 Inches & Long Battery Life

According to the two firms, the 3M Streaming Projector  is small enough to fit in one hand but has power to project to  project an image up to 120 inches can be used for at home for family movie nights, sleepovers and backyard parties and has up to a two-hour 45 minute battery life and as long as one got Wi-Fi , they can turn their wall  or ceilings into big-screen.

According to the partners’ the 3M Streaming Projector is already available in pre-orders from Amazon.com for $299, and will begin shipping on Oct. 22.

US $30 Billion Sales

Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Saratoga, California by Anthony Wood,  Roku is a streaming platform for delivering video, music and casual games to the TV with over 600 channels accessible on millions of devices in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and the Republic of Ireland.

3M has had $30 billion in sales, employs 84,000 people worldwide and has operations in over  65 countries.
