We caught up with Kate Stahnke a freelance developer who just recently became involved with the Southern California’s DigiGirlz program.  She brings us up-to-date on what they have planned for the August DigiGirlz camp.  We were involved with the first DigiGirlz day (Click here to view coverage.) of Southern California and now Lynn Langit will bring the first DigiGirlz camp.  It is fantastic that Microsoft is getting young women involved with the new technology and really getting them excited to want to be part of the new digital age.  For those of you that do not know what DigiGirlz is all about here is a little description:

“DigiGirlz High Tech Camp is a technology camp for girls. Its goal is to educate and inspire girls by introducing them to the considerable opportunities and career choices available in the high-tech industry.

During the camp, the girls listen to executive speakers, participate in technology tours and demonstrations, network, and learn with hands-on experience in workshops. Established in 2000, the camp continues to grow and evolve.”

They are continuously growing with an attendance of over 100 girls for the very first DigiGirlz day.  Currently they are filled up for the August DigiGirlz camp. However, I believe there may be a waiting list.  Checkout the interview below with Kate as she brings us up-to-date:
