Local SoCal start-up DocStoc is now giving publishers the ability to sell their premium content through their DocStore.  DocStoc is also giving you the ability to partner and sell your through the DocStore as well.  Launching with a few partners such as LegalZoom, 4Expertise, WriteMyEssay, and I also saw Brian Solis’ book “The Art and Science of Blogger Relations” in there as well.

DocStoc has been steadily climbing the charts in the online documentation world and is now nipping at the heels of Scribd as seen in this graph from Compete:

The DocStore is no doubt a response to Scribd’s online store launched back in May 2009, but a necessary one if they wish to stay in the game.  If you wish to stay up to date with DocStoc and CEO Jason Nazar and you are in LA, Jason hosts a free event every month called Start-ups Uncensored.  These monthly meetups are centered around different topics meant to help startups build their businesses.
