In this episode of TechZulu live we had special guest Andy Tong. Andy is a video game executive with 10+ years in online Casual/MMO/Social gaming and eCommerce. Founder and former CEO of MMOABC, with Andy’s guidence, propelled the company to  the 2nd most prolific portal and community for MMO gamers in North America with over 2 million monthly visitors through strategic business development efforts with over 50+ international leading video game publishing partners ranging from Acclaim Games, Bigpoint, Gameforge, Jagex, K2 Network and Perfect World.

Currently Andy is a Venture partner for a Stealth mode VC firm in the computer gaming industry, an advisory board member of ZipZap, enabling millions of “cash-based” users worldwide to shop and play online, and Advisor for ImTech, a nonprofit committed to supporting the development and adoption of immersive technology.

This week was destined to be Andy’s guest spot on TechZulu Live.  The amount of gaming news at 25pc.com for this week was really amazing such as the announcement of the Parrot AR Drone release, and Playstation Turning 15 years old.  Andy speaks about his opinions pertaining the gaming industry as well as the thought behind starting MMOABC.  In this TZ Highlight Andy goes over the reason he started MMOABC, the convergence of gaming and home entertainment, virtual worlds, what gamers are looking for in games and the addiction of games.

TechZulu Live also had a special surprise guest Nathan Makino.  Nathan is the founder and CEO of ImmersiveTech.org.  Immersive Tech (ImTech) is a non-profit organization that aims to promote the development and adoption of immersive technology.  Nathan and Andy speak about the first Immersive Tech conference happening October 21, 2010.   The conference will be held at the Los Angeles Center Studios to showcase the pioneers of Immersive Tech and collaborate on themes of innovation, applications, and future development.  If you are big on Immersive Technology I high recommend checking out this conference by clicking here.
