This event serves as a kick-off for rhubarb studio’s hackathon series, “Hack for Humanity,” which seeks solutions for public good in the private sector. The first hackathon is focused on using innovative technology to find new approaches to addressing the water crisis.

At the announcement of the new service, venture capitalist Marc Andreessen — an investor in Lyft — went on a Twitter firestorm extolling the virtues of the service. Never one to hold back, Andreessen called Lyft Line “an archetypal example of how Silicon Valley is going straight at the hard problems.”
The technical failure of Google Hangouts has done a disservice to the entire privacy conversation by limiting the use, re-use and remixing of Snowden’s comments.
