Mixergy’s Forum: Exclusive video interview with Dan Gould
Last month, Mixergy held a forum where the topic was “How to get your startup funded”. The panelists included William Quigley, Mark Suster and Daniel Gould. The event brought in about 100 people in a private theater listening and learning about the process and what are the secrets to getting your company funded.
One of the panelist speakers that we caught up with was Dan Gould. For Dan, it’s already been 2 years since Fox Interactive Media (FIM) acquired his company Newroo, a real-time news aggregator, that he co-founded with Brian Norgard before it ever came out of stealth mode. The deal was reported to be around $5 million. Newroo was later added onto MySpace as MySpace News. Today Daniel Gould works for FIM as their VP of Technology. He’s also an advisor and investor for Venture Hacks, which is an advice and introductions blog service for entrepreneurs. When not working at FIM, Dan spends his time talking about what it’s like to get your funded and company acquired. If you missed the event, Techzulu’s Lilian Lok caught up with a rare video interview with Dan where he talks about a few golden rules that he thinks startups should focus on.
