NET.Working Happy Hour in San Diego
The first official NET.Working event was held June 23rd at the fire and water themed J6Bar atop the Hotel Solamar in downtown San Diego. This event was put on by StartupSD, a new online sounding board that is connecting the growing Web community in San Diego by acting as a platform for web news, events and collaboration. The host of the event was San Diego’s very own MindTouch. They are an up and comer in the new wiki age. They are being recognized the world over for their MindTouch Deki Wiki. Their Wiki is built with a Web Oriented Architecture (WOA) that enables users to connect teams, enterprise systems, Web services and Web 2.0 applications with IT governance. It seems fitting that such a collaborative company would be the host of an event as NET.working.
The event was attended by more than 60 top southern California entrepreneurs, start ups and recent college grads looking for a career path in the Web 2.0 space. We had several amazing interviews throughout the evening with Lee Mills from MojoPages.com, Chris & Sergio from Apple TV Junkie, Alan Deicas with Wazzel.com and Chris Danielson from Max Power Soft. With the gravity that Los Angeles and San Diego are gaining in the tech and Internet macrocosm, we suspect that you will be seeing many more NET.working events in the future. Who said networking can’t be fun?
