It’s easy to forget that most of the world doesn’t have access or funds for iPhone’s, HTC Touch’s, or Nokia N95’s.  So it’s always great to see the innovation in emerging markets to help bring everyone up to speed.  These markets have the most grow potential so its smart for companies to take that extra effort to bring the newest technology to these areas.

Microsoft Announced OneApp today, a new software application that enables feature phones found in emerging markets o access apps such as Facebook, Twitter and other popular apps and games. It’s a very lightweight app that allows you to run more intensive apps by using the bare minimum of that app that you need. It also offloads some of the processes the bigger apps require to Microsoft cloud servers.

OneApp will begin launching with Blue Label Telecoms in South Africa and eventually be available worldwide.  Developers will be able to begin writing new apps with JavaScript and XML.  There will be SDK available by the end of 2009.
