Paul Chu, a 7 year .NET veteran, and founder of the SoCal .NET Nuke User Group (www.socaldug.org) sits down with TechZulu at the Inland Empire .NET User’s Group’s Most Valuable Member Program (MVM) awards to discuss the value of user groups and the benefits they offer to the average .NET developer. In the past, Paul has presented information on subsonic, a .NET code generation tool, to the Inland Empire User’s Group. Paul believes that participation in user groups like the IE .NET UG and the SoCal .NET Nuke UG are a valuable resource in a developer’s arsenal. He believes that user groups like these help get developers out of their offices and into situations where they can openly share their problems and solutions, while encouraging networking between developers. User group participants can help developers pick up on the latest trends in .NET and other Microsoft based technologies or in some cases it can lead to new job opportunities.
