The Future of Toys is in the Hands of Toybots
Toybots Founded by Shervin Pishevar launched at TC50 this year and was definitely one of my personal favorites. The Toybots Platform connects toys with full 3G, WiFi, GPS and accelerometer capabilities tied to online and mobile games. Audio books, online games, parents being able to record their voices and read their children bedtime stories even if they are thousands of miles away. The possibilities are nearly endless and especially when they are making an SDK available, who knows what will be made.
They are supplying an App Store that will be connected to the Toybots Magic Network (where there is an app store there is a way for developers to make some cash) where all applications can found for the toys.
Imagine what would be possible with this…I bet a whole slew of toy manufacturers are going to be bringing back a few classics, Cabbage Patch Kids, Teddy Ruxpin, My Buddy (CHUCKIE!!!!).
