RescueTime, the makers of a web-based time management tool, has come up with another service aimed to help companies find potential new employees. Touted as the “CarFax report for potential new employees”, RescueTime Introductions promises not to find a candidate that is 100% perfect for a position. Rather, it narrows down the field to a number of potential hires based on a broad range of factors.

Let’s face it, a lot of us working professionals are extremely busy these days. Long hours at the office, quick work out at the gym and a few errands before stores close and before you know it, you haven’t eaten yet. Or you meet up with friends for some drinks after work and didn’t get a chance to pick up your clothes from the dry cleaners.

The Spotlight: LA Tech Summer event is turning to be the best one yet! Excellent companies being submitted and most of which I wish could all be part of this amazing night. Starting up your own broadcasting network is no longer out of anyones reach. Dedication, hard work, a passion for what you love and of course a great internet connection. Andrew Zarian has always had a passion for broadcasting, and after being laid off decided he would follow his passion and make a carrer out of it.

In a sea of generic internship ads seeking ‘candidates with strong work ethic, attention to detail, good analytical skills, and of course, ability to take orders and accept under-compensation’ (okay, maybe not so blatantly on that last one), we stumbled upon quite an interesting tweet:

Path, the developers of the eponymous app for the iPhone, has come up with a mobile check in app with a focus on who you’re with. In their original app, Path, the developers focused more on sharing a picture or moment privately with a select group of friends. At a recent hackathon, the company saw that their users also wanted to selectively share their moments on public social networks, such as Twitter.

It’s great to create rich content but unless its easy to create the barriers of entry are high and the masses are not creating it. Webdoc aims to make it dead simple to allow those with/without technical knowledge to create rich engaging content that everyone can enjoy.
