Get Your Streamys On!
It’s only 12 days until the 2nd annual Streamy Awards and you can bet TechZulu will be there covering the collaboration between the International Academy of Web Television (IAWTV), Los Angeles startup Tubefilter, NewTeeVee.
The Streamys is a live-streamed, multi-camera annual awards show held in Los Angeles where web series’ and their creators win gold statues, and more importantly, the applause and accolades of their peers.
Last year, The Streamys received criticism for having too few categories that tended to weigh in favor of those with bigger budgets or fan-followings. This year, there are more than 30 categories, including technical awards, from Best Web Series Host to Best Directing for a Comedy Web Series.
Some of this year’s nominations include: Compulsions (Best Drama Web Series), A Comicbook Orange (Best Hosted Web Series), and The Legend of Neil (Audience Choice Award for Best Web Series).
The Streamys will air April 11 at the Orphium Theater. Look for our coverage from the red carpet and an analysis by yours truly of the evening.
(Disclaimer: Besides his work for Techzulu, Jacob Nahin is also a Staff Writer for Tubefilter News, a host of the Streamy Awards).
