After the re-release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 there was no doubt that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was just around the corner.  And now that wait will soon be over.  We were able to get a hands on preview during E3 at the Capcom booth and although a bit rusty at first that old combo muscle memory quickly returned.

The Controls are pretty much the same as before, except on the Xbox 360 controller the A button allows you to perform the launcher hit with all characters.  I’m not too sure how I feel about that yet given that I had about 5-10 min of play time.  Before only certain moves with each character would knock an opponent up into the air allowing you to perform and aerial onslaught on them.  Why did capcom decide to do this?  More likely then not to give beginners an advantage and not have to worry about which move or button does what.  I’m sure hardcore players and fans of MvC 3 will be none too pleased.  However this is still the demo version and and not the final product so if they get enough complaints that can revert it back to the original.

Similar to Street Fighter IV one of the first things you notice in MvC 3 is the graphics upgrade.  The vibrant 3D backgrounds in each stage that were playable and playable characters looked amazing.  I really enjoyed the attention to detail going on in the background as the fight is taking place. Things to look for during the fight is the progressions of the backgrounds throughout each stage.

There were only a few playable characters in the demo such as Dante, Chris Redfield, Ryu, Wolverine, Morrigan, Hulk, Felicia, Iron Man, and Captain America.  I was super excited to see Dante from Capcom’s Devil May Cry series because now all those ass kicking combos you are able to perform in the series you can now do to an opponent in the MvC 3.  I played with 2 sets of characters which all were very fun to use and noticed a few new fighting moves which were added to this new version.

This was definitely a fun game to play and was one of my favorites from this years E3 Expo 2010.  Fans of the series will pick this up the moment it come out and from what I’ve seen so far it is certainly worth it.  The scheduled release date for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is Spring of 2011
