Siemer Summit: Connecting Global Digital Media & Technology Leaders
This month, Siemer and Associates hosted its 4th Annual invitation-only Silicon Beach Summit at Casa Del Mar and Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, California. The event attracted over 500 distinguished attendees from around the world in the digital media and technology industry including advertising, media, data, eCommerce, software, social and gaming.
This was a very unique global meeting of the minds as many of participants arrived from foreign nations, facilitating international business discussions and partnerships. The two-day Summit encompassed 70 company presentations from successful founders, 30 featured speakers, 40 early stage award nominees, 50 renowned judges, a series of roundtable discussions, and networking and relationship-building opportunities.
“Our goal this year was to connect leaders in digital media and technology from around the world and honor those making significant contributions to the industry,” said David Siemer, co-founder and Managing Partner of Wavemaker Partners and founder of Siemer & Associates Investment Bank. “The Summit and Awards truly encompassed the spirit of global technology, and we’re proud to continue to play a key role in fostering the leading tech innovation right here in Southern California.”
The Summit featured panels and roundtable discussions that explored a variety of key topics to the global tech community ranging from digital content, marketing and social growth hacking to data analytics, software and investment trends for early stage companies. The event also showcased a variety of promising startups from digital media, mobile, cloud, entertainment, advertising, and eCommerce. Presenting companies included: Add This, Cognitive Networks, TrueCar, Trunk Club, Invidi, ID.me, Datacratic, BeyondCORE, ParkMe and many more. The Summit also served as a launch pad for new products and branding from companies such as Bling Fashion Jewelry, Song Lily, TrailerPop and FilmTrack.
The event culminated with a closing Wavemaker Awards ceremony honoring rising tech stars, promising young companies, leaders and veterans as they receive recognition for their global contributions in helping cultivate the industry. The coveted Big Kahuna award, valued at over $200,000 is givien to the compay that best demonstrates the potential to achieve unsually rapid scale and success. This honor was presented to ShipHawk, described as the kayak.com of shipping, allowing users to ship anything, anywhere from one platform.
