If there is one thing that is true about business, it’s that technology can transform your business and is constantly changing how companies complete their work. If you want to know what the future holds for businesses, there is perhaps no better place to start than investigating some of the emerging technologies currently gaining steam. Much like how the personal computer and smart phone have utterly transformed the business landscape. However when you notice your computer running slowly or your disk is full, you may need to clean it. This disk cleanup for Windows helps you delete files that are no longer needed or move them to another drive. Much of this new tech is poised to the do the same, since everything is electrical now and that’s why Expert industrial electrical contractors are more important than ever. Below is an overview of just a few of the emerging technologies that are likely to have a huge impact on nearly every industry.

The Driverless Car

The era of the driverless car is drawing near. The idea of driving from place the place without the need to steer the wheel is amazing in and of itself. This is sure to be a boon for the auto industry. Since more people will be able to legally operate a car due to there no longer being a need for driver’s licenses, more people will be able to own one. The passengers of cars will also be able to focus on other things than steering the vehicle. The digital entertainment industry will see a great increase in business as well. Business people may even soon be able to teleconference from the driver’s seat of such a vehicle. Other industries, however, will not fare as well.  According to a report by CNBC, three percent of American workers drive vehicles. All of those jobs are at risk of being wiped out. Taxi drivers and bus drivers may have to find new industries entirely. Companies like Uber may be supplanted as well without serious changes to their business plans.

3D Printing

3D printing is another exciting technology that is sure to have a huge impact on businesses, especially in electronic contract manufacturing services. With the use of a 3D printer, an object of any shape can be manufactured in quick fashion. Previously, the production processes for creating such items were much more expensive and difficult to obtain for even very large companies. With a 3D printer, however, even private citizens can create objects like toys, statues, tools and utensils with very fine details in a very short amount of time. A production process designed to create thousands of products is no longer needed. The 3D printer can do all of that work for a single object. All that needs to be changed to alter the process to create something different is a computer file. 3D printing will have an extreme effect on retail. Consumers will be able to order products customized to their own specifications. No longer will they be forced to choose between products produced in batches of tens of thousands. However, if powerful 3D printers become cost effective for individuals to buy, it could have the opposite effect and deliver a devastating blow to retailers instead. There is also a lot of promise for 3D printing in the medical industry as well.  According to the Smithsonian, scientists hope to use 3D printing to create replacement human ears with the use of stem cells.

Streaming Big Data

While the term big data is nothing new to businesses, it is quickly evolving into something that even small businesses can greatly benefit from. Part of this is due to the introduction of open source streaming software like Kafka on AWS, which stands for Amazon Web Services. This is a distributed messaging program designed to work with cloud services from Amazon. A small business owner can use it to create a custom application that integrates streaming data.  According to benchmark testing, Apache Kafka can perform 2 million writes per second. Technology is evolving and improving at a pace never seen before in human history. There is a lot of change in store for the future of human beings as well as businesses. Try not to get left behind by the change. If you are too slow to evolve with changes in technology, you may be left in the dust by your competitors.
