A “Blippy for Voicemail” is how CEO Ryan Born describes Audioo.  Allowing you to share your voicemail’s, something which most people feel is extremely private, to the world.

Audioo has made it really easy for you to upload your voicemail.  The easiest being, if you have a Google Voice account, the Firefox add-on.  Simply click “Upload to Audioo” from Google Voice and off they go.  For those who do not have a Google Voice account you can record one from your computer, call 1-405-4-AUDIOO (1-405-428-3466) and leave one.  Audioo automatically transcribes them and you have one final chance to decide whether or not you want to share them with the world.  You also have the ability to delete, categorize, tag, edit the transcription and favorite voicemails.

The goal behind all this is to build the largest searchable archive of transcribed voice recordings, including localized real-time streams and trending topics.

To kick off the site Audioo has teamed with The Jerky Boys on an iPad giveaway contest dubbed “Jerkin’ with The Jerky Boys”.  All you have to do is submit your voicemails, and wait and see if you win an iPad!  To submit, call 1-405-4-AUDIOO (1-405-428-3466) or visit the site for more details.

You may be thinking that there are going to be some huge privacy issues to come out of this.  And your probably right, however, they are not scrapping your voicemails to post on to the site and its completely voluntary to signup and submit your voicemails.  There is always the option to delete as stated above.  With the world becoming more open I can definitely see people signing up and sharing their voicemails.

Would you be willing to have your voicemails publicly avilable?  Would you share all or just a select few? Let us know how you feel in the comments below.

Here is an example of what can be found at Audioo.  (Warning this voicemail contains some vulgar language)
