The Deets

Enterprise Software sucks, and if you’re an engineer or product designer, we invite you to join this hackathon to reinvent business 2 business software. The goal is to take the complicated out of softwares like CRMs and project management tools and turn them in to simple, beautiful and usable products.

Judges

Sizhao Yang: Co-founder of BetterWorks. Co-creator of Farmville and the technical platform for Zynga.
George Ishii: Co-founder of BetterWorks. Co-founder of Yammer, and Geni. Early designer of Paypal.
Josh Woods: Senior Engineer at BetterWorks. Co-creator of the Lotus Share platform, which powers the new Lotus Connections Files and Wikis components at IBM. 8 patents pending, and world programming finalist.

Using open source projects, the idea is to create a technical masterpieces that will make the workplace better whether it’s project management, a customer relations management system, a point of sale system, expense reports, bug creation tools, developer tools, and/or a diferent system that no one’s ever heard of.

WHO

Come by yourself and team up or bring your engineering/product design friends. We can have teams of 2-5 people comprised of engineers and UI designers. There will be technical and product mentors there to help.

WHEN

Sunday August 14th 9am-5pm
Whatever is done is done. Demos and awards start at 5:30pm.

WHAT

Hackathon using open source projects (Apache, Mysql, Hbase, Cassandra, Ngnix, Erlang, and more ). Food and drinks are provided throughout the night. Technical and product mentors are provided roaming across the entire place. T-shirt for Hackathon attendees will be provided as well. Projects will be judged on technical merit, product feasibility, and UI design.
