Getty Images, one of the largest photo distributors, has forged a pact with Flickr to commercially license selected user content. Welcome to the Flickr collection a whole new creative universe, chock full of images that capture the passion and personality of a global community of photographers – and of the places they call home. Started By Getty Images these handpicked images with an originality and authenticity rare in stock photos. Images that are available exclusively on http://www.gettyimages.com/Creative site, in both rights-managed and royalty-free options. Getty Images editors will hand select photos from Flickr for commercial licensing. And this is just a start. They will be adding thousands more every month, to connect new Flickr photos, with the people creating them and with people like you, using them to tell their stories.
Just because they’re Flickr photos, don’t expect them to come too cheap. Images from the Flickr Collection are meant for professional use, typically come with royalty-free or rights-managed licenses, and start at $49.99 for 500KB RGB photo and go up in price with increased size.
At first glance, there are already thousands of gorgeous photos, each with their own story to tell, and searchable by people, location, concept, subject, composition, and viewpoint.
