K5 Brings yCombinator Model Accelerator To Orange and San Diego County
Exciting times in the Southern California tech community. K5Launch announced a new accelerator program that provides promising technology startups with a three-month intensive accelerator program for entrepreneurs in Southern California. K5 aims to create a network of support and mentorship along with access to capital where people can build on creative ideas with the help of successful business people, and connect with investors to get their concepts off the ground.
Entrepreneurs in Los Angeles, San Diego and the Orange County with innovative ideas, particularly in the social, mobile, local media and Internet marketplaces, can apply for the opportunity to be a part of this emerging community. Accepted applicants will not only be eligible for a pre-seed fund up to $25K to begin developing a prototype, they will also be guided through the process of building a lean company during K5Launch.
“SoCal is home to some of the greatest startup success stories. We want to help spark more successes and ensure they remain here and participate in creating an innovative and vibrant community” said Amir Banifatemi, co-founder of K5Launch. “We designed K5Launch to fill the void left behind by local angel and VC investors. There is a lot of untapped talent in Southern California, and we want to expose it by providing early stage and direct support in an efficient and systematic way”
Fellow co-founder, Ray Chan explained that “turning an idea into a company is a daunting, lengthy and scary journey. K5Launch will turn this intimidating prospect into an exciting three-month adventure.”
