Lessons in Social Advertising 08 (LiSA08) took place last Thursday at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. It was a panel of industry insiders offering their insight into the role Social Advertising is playing as an emerging new branding tool in the new media space. According to the LiSA Panel, they are the first forum dedicated to social media marketing.

As this is a new tool in the toolbox, the panel opened with each member giving their own definition of a successful Social Advertising campaign and even went on to individually define widgets and applications, and the roles these play in effective social marketing. The relevancy in this, is that it has become such a critical, new resource that everyone, including brands and marketers, are trying to figure it out and more importantly, apply metrics to it. Topics covered included how to measure ROI with Social Media, how to reach influencers in the online space and authentically connect with those users, and more.

The following highlights the experienced background of the panel:

  • Michael Berkley – Co-founder/CEO of SplashCast, a customizable and dynamic social advertising and application network.
  • Tony Zito – President & CEO of mediaForge, which is socializing and monetizing branded, immersive and portable widgets that leverage existing online advertising inventory.
  • Ben Pashman – VP, Sales and Business Development of Gigya, the largest widget network, reaching over 128 million widget users.
  • Jake Munsey – VP, Marketing & OAP of Fuel TV, a cable television station that screens the best of action sports and music.

Be sure to come back and watch each interview in it’s entirety.
