Lollapalooza Integrates Slacker Radio into App and Custom Station
Just about every major event has its own iPhone app and now Lollapalooza is entering the App game for their upcoming concert in Chicago August 6-8, 2010. However, they are not just simply releasing an iPhone app for the event they have also integrated Slacker Radio into the app. Just today the partnership was announced with Slacker’s Lollapalooza 2010 Radio. The application, developed by Seed Labs, is now available in the iTunes App Store and features the Lollapalooza 2010 station along with the ability to seamlessly add artists heard on the station to your personal Lollapalooza event schedule.
Lollapalooza 2010 Radio includes music from 100+ bands performing at the show including Green Day, Soundgarden, Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire and The Strokes. Before, during and after the show, fans can continue listening to the Lollapalooza station for news updates from the event and custom interviews with the performing artists.
Lollapalooza 2010 Radio can be accessed anywhere Slacker is available including on the web, iPhone/iPad/iPod touch, BlackBerry smartphones, webOS smartphones, Windows Mobile, Android-powered smartphones, Slacker-enabled Blu-ray players or Sony TVs. Fans with an iPhone or iPod touch will have access to the event’s lineup and Slacker station along with artist profiles, album cover art and more by downloading the Lollapalooza application from iTunes.
This is a great move on Slacker Inc.’s part. Although Pandora is still the number one online music streaming service, partnerships like these can definitely help out Slacker Inc. Seed Labs has made applications for some of the biggest music festivals/events around and integrating Slacker into all of these or the future updates of these applications can give Slacker a big push in their listener base.
