Phonevite: Send the Announcement
Technology helps us be more productive by saving us time. That’s the kind of service you’ll get out of Phonevite. Phonevite is a useful tool that allows you to send voice announcements and reminders using your phone. It’s really simple to use too. You call the number provided by Phonevite, make your announcement, then the message is sent to everyone that you’ve included in your contacts list. I see a lot of uses for this such as events, company announcements, birthdays, meeting reminders, etc. The fact that it’s a service that allows you to call in is convenient enough for me. You don’t have to get an internet connection. My phone is the most convenient access for me, so it makes sense to have this service. Phonevite’s business model uses a freemium structure, where you have your basic lower volume in terms of number of announcements that you can send out to. The paid service allows you to increase the number of contacts that receive your announcement. You can check out the prices yourself here. Other companies doing phone alerts and announcements include: telepixie, voiceshot and there are a few others. From all the ones I’ve reviewed, Phonevite has the slicker Web 2.0 look, where it’s a lot more pleasing to the eyes. The rest have more of a Web 1.0-ish feel to them. Also, using the service on Phonevite is the simplest. Check out our interview with the CEO John Nahm here.
