Tubefilter is an awesome local Southern California start-up company to get all of your web TV news from and now with the acquisition of Tilzy.TV we can look forward to even more great content.  Congrats to the team and their expansion.  Below is the press release with all the deets:

LOS ANGELES, CA (October 19, 2009) – Tubefilter, Inc. (www.tubefilterinc.com), the leading online digital entertainment media company for the Web Television industry, announced today that it has agreed to acquire Tilzy.TV LLC (www.tilzy.tv), a top Web TV entertainment reviews, news and events business. The acquisition combines a popular source of online information and reviews with Tubefilter, Inc., which owns Tubefilter News (www.tubefilter.tv), the leading Web TV industry news site. Tilzy.TV’s co-founders will join the Tubefilter, Inc. executive team effective immediately and will continue to be based in New York. The terms of the deal are undisclosed.

“The Tilzy.TV team has built a very successful online entertainment news and events business, which complements Tubefilter’s long term mission and growth strategy. Their digital entertainment upfronts this past Spring (www.onfronts.com) rallied independent and global online entertainment production companies, brands and ad agencies – signaling that online entertainment’s future is bright,” said Brady Brim-DeForest, the new Chief Executive Officer of Tubefilter, Inc.

“Tilzy.TV and Tubefilter are a natural fit – the team shares a commitment to supporting and elevating the success of the Web TV community,” said Jamison Tilsner, who founded Tilzy.TV with Joshua Cohen in 2007. “As co-founders of the Streamy Awards (www.streamys.org), which honors excellence in Web TV programs, and the International Academy of Web Television (www.iawtv.org), we have worked closely together over the past year.”

As part of the transition, founders from both companies will take on new roles in key senior management positions. Tubefilter co-founder, Brady Brim-DeForest, has been named Chief Executive Officer of Tubefilter, Inc. As a successful technologist and entrepreneur, Brim-DeForest brings critical software development, management, and marketing experience to the company. Tilzy.TV co-founders Jamison Tilsner and Joshua Cohen will join the company’s management team as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer, respectively. Tubefilter co-founder Drew Baldwin will serve as Senior Vice President, Product and co-founder Marc Hustvedt will serve as Senior Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of Tubefilter News.
