Rancho Cucamonga and Fontana are the latest additions to the FiOS expansion in Southern California. In California, Verizon’s FiOS TV and FiOS Internet services are now available to more than 1 million households in 85 communities throughout San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura and Riverside counties.

From personal experience, if you haven’t had a chance to surf or work with an all fiber optic network you are missing out! My first and only run with it was with Verizon FiOS so I can’t speak for At&t but I’m assuming it shouldn’t be much different. However, those of you who have or used U-verse let us know how you like/dislike it.

But just comparing the speeds I know which choice I would make:

FiOS:

Download up to 50 Mbps / Upload up to 20 Mbps

Download up to 25 Mbps / Upload up to 15 Mbps

Download up to 15 Mbps / Upload up to 5 Mbps

U-Verse:

Download up to 18 Mbps / Upload up to 1.5 Mbps

Download up to 12 Mbps / Upload up to 1.5 Mbps

Download up to 3 Mbps / Upload up to 1 Mbps

Download up to 1.5 Mbps / Upload up to 1 Mbps
