Hands On With Nokia: Booklet 3G, Mural, And 7705 Twist
Nokia has always been a leader in innovation and style, and they had tons of new goodies for us at PEPCOM MobileFocus during CTIA last week. We first took a look at the Nokia Booklet 3G. It comes with an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, a 12 hour running battery life (The one we were looking at had been on for much longer around 14-16 hours and literally died just before the interview), includes A-GPS, 3G, a unibody aluminum case, 10.1′ glass screen 720p resolution (HD ready), 120GB HDD, and HDMI output. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these. Coming from a very reliable source we hear they will announce when it will be available (around Thanksgiving/Christmas time) along with pricing in about a week or two.
Then we checked out the Mural recently released for AT&T. Highlights include 3G with HSDPA connectivity, integrated IM and email, dedicated external music buttons, a 2.2-inch QVGA internal display, a 2 megapixel camera and microSDHC support, customizable lighting features. For those who just want a phone to make phone calls this here Mural is for you.
And Last but not least the 7705 Twist. A Verizon Wireless feature phone that has been tailored for easy and quick messaging on the move. Along with the full QWERTY keyboard, the Twist comes with a customizable Contact Light Ring (that huge button on the bottom right), letting you assign colors to identify calls and messages from your contacts book. While email, IM, MMS and SMS are all standard, the 7705 Twist is also blog-savvy, enabling you to communicate via a ‘post to blogs’ feature that also can fire out your pictures and text to social network sites.
