Greg Ferenstein is our local Fast Company expert blogger, educator of improved and needed skills in the 21st century at UCI (University of California, Irvine), and all around fantastic guy to know. Greg is the kind of guy that likes things short, sweet and to the point as most of us on the web are, and when it comes presentations Greg has a few tips to have you speaking like a Pro at your next speaking engagement.
- You do not need to be super funny.
- You do not need to be the best speaker in the world.
- Be Genuine and have good ideas.
- Talk from Experience.
- Keep your answers short.
- Be responsive to your audience.
- Use pictures to illustrate what you are going about to talk about.
- Make a joke or use a joke that someone has created.. Making people laugh will give you an extra 1 to 2 minutes longer that they will listen to you. Giving you the ability to say anything you want and get your point across during that extra time.
- Get fantastic food if possible. People will come.
