Prototype Day | Doers Not Dreamers
Ever have an idea for a great mobile startup but get stuck with just a dream because you have no skills to design or develop it and no money to pay to get it done? Some business people have friends that are designers or developers but most are not so lucky.
On December 8, the first ever Prototype Day will be held at DuoCampus, a co-working space in Irvine, California. Any person with an idea is welcome to attend, no coding skills required.
You will spend 8 hours with like-minded entrepreneurs and by the end of the day build a clickable wireframe or working prototype of a mobile app, finally taking the first steps of making your visions into reality. Your day will start with pitching your idea to a group and form a team around it. With the help of your team, you flush out your ideas on the business model canvas and mentors will guide you through the process. Finally, you can design your idea using recommended prototype tools or any software of your choice and demonstrate your prototype to a panel of experienced mobile app judges.
Speakers and judges include Christian Gammill, Founder and CEO of Youregards, Michael Montenegro, VP of Business Development of Pyntail, one of LA’s leading mobile development firms with over 150+ mobile app products developed, Crystal Ehrlich, UX Designer and LA UX Meetup Organizer, and Michael Sawitz, serial entrepreneur, Founder and Managing Director at FastStart.studio.
The winning team will be awarded with various prizes totaling $20,000 including a 1-hr personal 1-on-1 session with a serial entrepreneur and startup advisor, Vak Sambath, creative web design from Prosperitech, Inc., a digital web agency specializing in UI design and a voucher for enrollment in the FastStart.studio accelerator program.
