SkyBell Technologies, Inc. today announced SkyBell Version 2.0, an upgrade to their Wi-Fi video doorbell, which enables users to answer the front door from their mobile device. SkyBell Version 2.0 isn’t just a software update its an all new device that launched with improved Wi-Fi performance, upgraded wide-angle camera and enhanced motion sensor.

SkyBell is available for purchase now on Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, and of course directly on SkyBell.com.  They have some more announcements on distribution channels coming soon, but now being in stores at BestBuy is a huge win for them.

Version 2.0 includes a brand new, Wi-Fi chip for a faster syncing process and video performance, digital door chime capability, enhanced memory for faster performance, and an updated motion sensor. With the SkyBell Version 2.0 upgrade, users now have an improved camera with a wider viewing angle, and customization of contrast and backlighting options for a higher visual quality, making it easily to identify visitors at the doors. The updated motion sensor and timer (coming soon) allows users the freedom to choose the time of day the motion sensor is active, ensuring active monitoring at night.

“We’re very passionate about creating useful technology that improves everyday life and empowers people with a new level of convenience and control,” said Andrew Thomas, Co-Founder of SkyBell. “We’re proud to roll out SkyBell Version 2.0, to give consumers new advanced, essential features that will elevate the quality of their Skybell experience while giving users a new feeling of safety with answering the door.”

Future software feature upgrades will also include server recording and activity history that give users the most awareness over their front door.  Customers will access recorded video when they can’t answer the door and see a list of the day’s activity, including missed and answered rings and motion sensor activations. So it will be like a answering machine for your front door.
