As you can see from the image above. Microsoft Windows 6.5 will have a built in widget engine. What is a widget Engine? A widget Engine is a applications built from HTML and JavaScript to run using the IE 6 Mobile engine, but without the “chrome” (IE menus, address bar etc) one normally associate with web pages.

These widgets enable low entry curve to mobile development has been used for some time in vista as sidebar gadgets. This also dramatically lowers the bar for windows mobile development. Of course this means the user needs to have a internet connections and some sort of data plan.

You can see above the the msn money and msn weather are simply mobile based web pages that are shown as applications. This is really cool and should get the ball rolling on mobile dev much faster.
