The word, “Hacker” automatically instills a sense of fear and mistrust in most people. You might imagine some dark, shadowy nefarious character in a black hat, trenchcoat and possibly donning a Guy Fawkes mask. Whatever your perception may be, an estimated 15,000 attendees showed up for this year’s DefCon 22, an annual event with talks, contests, vendor-booths, charities, workshop training areas and more.

This month, Siemer and Associates hosted its 4th Annual invitation-only Silicon Beach Summit at Casa Del Mar and Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, California. The event attracted over 500 distinguished attendees from around the world in the digital media and technology industry including advertising, media, data, eCommerce, software, social and gaming.

But how does it perform? I had the chance to demo the phone for a week after this event in order to give an accurate review and I’ll say that it’s a nice, sturdy piece of hardware in your hand and in your pocket. It’s not too big like some of these MEGA phablets on the market but feels ruggedly solid, probably won’t need to get an additional outer case like you normally might with other smartphone selections.

Everyone’s favorite online award show, the Streamy Awards is quickly approaching. For the 4th year in a row, the Streamys will be held in honor of the hard working people responsible for creating and producing online video content. Last year, the Streamy Awards garnered over 7million live and VOD views, and this year, expect many more.
