The tech calendar for L.A. seems to be a pretty exciting and busy for the last week of March, and it was only fitting that we started it off with a few drinks and some friends. On Tuesday night, we began our week at the Digital L.A. Happy Hour Drinks event at the Wilshire Restaurant in Santa Monica. If you’ve never heard about it, then you should start marking this event on your calendar. Digital L.A. “is an informal networking group in online entertainment, marketing, advertising, operations and e-commerce.” The group is organized by Kevin Winston from Fox Interactive. It was the group’s third event and it became packed before everyone was able to get their rounds for happy hour. Approximately 120 people showed up to mingle during this event. Attendees ranged from people that work for Sony Pictures, FOX Interactive, MySpace, Google, Yahoo!, Disney, and start-up tech companies that were so private that they couldn’t even give us a hint at what they were doing! However, we did manage to grab a few start-ups for interviews with us here.
