For those who may think Las Vegas is just the home of Zappos, Conferences, and day/night entertainment, well you are right. However, there is a whole new breed of entrepreneurs and startups starting to emerge from the #VegasTech scene. TechZulu had the honor of being invited out to the Tracky Launch event last week. Tracky is an all new startup based out of Las Vegas focusing on social collaboration.
Recently we talked with Grocery Coupon Network about the future of couponing and the push towards mobile solutions. Now we bring in the Chief Marketing Officer, Jeffrey Hudson to talk about the new application Grocery Coupon Network engineered to allow the entire coupon printing process to happen from inside Facebook.
This week during SXSW we learned of all sorts of the new startup scenes around the country, even the world. One in particular we talked with was startup accelerator The Gig Tank out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Chattanooga has recently begun to blossom in the world of design, startups, and tech. Absolutely. And honestly? It was DAMN entertaining. We had a fantastic time at last week’s inaugural leetUP event, a new live event series catered to celebrating and showcasing nerd culture. One part arts, culture, and entertainment showcase; two parts variety show; three parts toilet humor infused banter, The show was hosted by “Attack of the Show” (G4)’s host Kevin Pereira (who also founded and produced the show).
Wow — what a weekend. Startup Weekend LA has grown to become a very special event here in Los Angeles. This past SWLA (February 24-26) was like non other and the 5th event to take place at Coloft here in Santa Monica. It’s also a very exciting time here in LA Tech with over 6 accelerators and incubators springing up over the past year.
Youtube.com, 48 hours of uploads every minute and three billion views daily, according to Youtube.com’s official blog in May of 2011. With consumption of online video up “400% with the release of the Iphone 3G back in 2009” (MacRumors, Eric Slivka) and the numbers ever growing, it would be tough to testify that we aren’t as a globe, obsessed with online video. With producing at our finger tips, we can film our lives to post for the word to see.
As we know the mobile industry is accelorating at high speeds with no chances of slowing down anytime soon. With this fast pace industry the elegant design we see if websites, is sometimes lost in translation. Q Manning of Rocksauce, is out to change that.
