OMG. It is times like these that I wish I was a developer. This weekend March 23-24, Friskies Cat Food is hosting a “Games for Cats Hackathon” with a $15,000 dollar cash prize going to the developer who comes up with the winning app or cat game. Yes, using colors, swipes, animation and a scratch-resistant iPad, there is no telling how many hours of fun can be created for cats.

It is going to be an informative night at the next Social Media Club L.A. (SMCLA) event at CrossCampus, with some major heavy hitters in the B2B industry dropping social strategy secrets. One that you will not want to miss if your business is selling to other businesses, and you are not sure how to utilize the power of social networks to promote your brand.

There is a plethora of tech innovation going on in Los Angeles right now, and not only in Silicon Beach — but all over from downtown to the valleys to everywhere in between. New entrepreneurs are setting up shop and the city is encouraging tech development with exciting initiatives. Keeping track of all the new companies, funding, networking and events going on across town is challenging.

I could feel the hackers excitement as I stepped into the AT&T and American Airline’s room at the Hilton in downtown Austin at SXSW 2013. This isn’t AT&T Developers Program’s first rodeo at SXSW. All I know is things are super dialed in at these hacks. AT&T, American Airlines and the other sponsors (like dot CO, Hertz, and Voice Park), spare no expense to make sure these hackers are treated like royalty. Not only did they get all types of swag and great food, these hackers got to be some of the first to build on APIs from AT&T and American Airlines.

Whether you’re watching from home or wondering the streets of Austin, you’ll be able to tune in to all the exciting happenings at this year’s TechZulu Trend Lounge. Not only are we live streaming everyday, but we have all sorts of great events going on within the lounge. There’s even a few special guests that you just won’t want to miss. See below for the entire schedule.

For the first time in SXSW history, young group of entrepreneurs are being celebrated for their accomplishments and have been invited to be on a panel to discuss and share their insight on problem solving, social consciousness, and making the world a better place. The panel will take place on Saturday, March 9th at the Hilton Garden Inn at 1:30pm. Organized by Blacks in Tech (BiT), a coalition of targeted technology organizations and industry thought leaders and in collaboration with fabricatedby.me, SXSW welcomes five intelligent kids with stories of remarkable success.

(March 9th and 10th 2013) This year’s AT&T Hackathon at SXSW is focused on technology and travel. With travel on the hackers’ brains and technology at their fingertips, these geeks are going to get knee deep in some code! For the hack, AT&T has partnered with American Airlines to create a venue for these techies to fly technology into the future! AT&T has numerous hackathons during the year, and the SXSW event is expected to be one of the largest of 2013.
