It seems like people can’t stop talking about the latest smartphones. It’s a topic of excited conversation, one that never seems to let up. After all, as soon as people have purchased the latest version of whatever brand they prefer, they get right back to looking forward to what the next version will bring. So let’s indulge that anticipation a little bit, shall we?

But how does it perform? I had the chance to demo the phone for a week after this event in order to give an accurate review and I’ll say that it’s a nice, sturdy piece of hardware in your hand and in your pocket. It’s not too big like some of these MEGA phablets on the market but feels ruggedly solid, probably won’t need to get an additional outer case like you normally might with other smartphone selections.

Last Monday, Jan 6th, marked the culmination of AT&T’s Developer Summit at CES 2014 along with the release of open APIs for its U-Verse platform on Android. Now developers can build Android apps with AT&T Labs and AT&T Foundry to let customers better interact with their televisions from a smartphone, tablet or other such mobile devices.

We’ve been there. Turn on your phone and look at the productivity folder. Three, maybe four apps; each with their own learning curve and rules of engagement. Something to write your notes, another to set reminders, and one that does both. But you know, with a social aspect and extra cute buttons. Kind of like a disarrayed choose your own adventure book about your life.
